Lady friend
Alfie & Eddie have a visitor: a chocolate labrador called Donna.
Donna came here on Sunday evening and she will stay here until next Monday when her owners are on holiday. She has also two “sisters” but they are staying at their “grandparents”.
The whole gang has been surprisingly calm. At first there was the normal hassle but after a while they all settled down nicely.
Donna is not used to cats so she is very very interested in them. Also goats are new to her but she does not show as much interest to them anymore as she does for cats.
We had a nice morning walk today and here is the tour with photos.

Hi,
We are pleased to see that chocolate has got to the men in black. Donna is a big girl for a lab. The boys look happy with their friend.
What is the white plant on the ground?

Hi Michelle,
The white plant is lichen. It’s something the rain deers are eating in the Lapland. It is quite often growing the the big rocks.

Do you have reindeer living in the forest near you? Are they hunted like Elk?

This is not north enough for the reindeers, but we have deers that we call “forest deers”. We also have something that is traslated as roe deer.
Peura = wild reindeer
Metsakauris = roe deer
Did not find anything to translate the “forest deer”.
These deers are hunting just like elks. Raindeers are owned by someone and normally not hunted.
