The duvet set I ordered from eBay arrived yesterday. Fast delivery.

I’m trying to do my best to get my new house look nice + having textures + everything else “dog friendly”. My last place had wooden floor and in couple of years it looked quite bad. The laminate floor that I have here in my new place is ok, no claw marks, but it is quite slippery for older dogs (like Otto who is visiting us all the time. I need to help him get up). In the kitchen I have wooden floor but after moving in I covered it up with plastic matting that looks like wooden floor. It has been excellent because I have a big pond in the front yard and boys can be quite wet when they came back inside. Laminate will not last for long if it gets wet, nor wooden floor.

In the hallway I have tile floor which is good too but in Finland it needs heating system (during the winter) and can be quite expensive in the long run.

I found eBay some time ago. We have similar place also in Finland called Huuto.net but since Finland is a small market area with our 5 milj inhabitants you do not often find what you are looking for. Of course I have heard about eBay long time ago but I didn’t think I would shop there. I was so wrong.
So far I have inversion table, MBT shoes and bedding duved set.
Today I placed bits for
- Gundog training DVD hunting/shooting
- James Douglas: Gundog training
As you can see, there is something useful for training your flatties too.

I’m surprised that a firm in eBay isn’t interested in selling their products to Finland. I saw this lovely set in eBay and tried to order it by PayPal. I couldn’t because I’m located in Finland. I sent two emails to the seller asking if it would be possible to ship to Finland. No replies. The products didn’t sell so the seller has now relisted them. I mailed again (for the third time) telling I would be interested bying the set, but still no replies. As soon as I find something as beautiful from somewhere else in eBay I will pay it.

Yesterday we “tempted the fate” and went to the forest. I hadn’t heard any gunshots nor anything elk-hunting related, so I though it was safe.
We had a long and nice walk in the forest and I managed to get some good photos of the boys.
You can click the photos to see them bigger.

In Finland the season for hunting elks always starts on the last Saturday in September. I heard from one of the locals they normally start later, Saturday 18/10 this year.
The hunting area starts just after my piece of land.

Now I have challenges of going for a walks in the forest because there might be elk-hunting just then. This is my first time in the area, so I really do not know what is happening in the forest and when.
Anyway the boys have been very initiative in exercising: I only need to open the front door
They have been happy to visit the neighbors who do not mind that at all. There are other dogs in my yard too and it is fine for me (as long as it is peaceful).
Also I’m very grateful to my dad who did the fence for my dogs. It is 2 meters high so it should be enoug heven for my boys to stay inside.

I think that my boys should have enough exercise even during the local hunting season.
Elk warning sign

Welcome to my English blog. I’ve been blogging (in Finnish) since July 2005 and my Finnish blog can be found here.
This is the first writing here and as it is 0.40 am so I think it is better to continue after a good sleep.
Thanks to Anna & Ramin for this blog.
I still need to learn how to use this new version of Wp (to add photos correctly).
